Audi is now offering automotive fans the chance to explore their factory in Ingolstadt, Germany from the safety of their homes.
AudiStream is a new, ground-breaking online interactive guided tour of Audi’s largest factory in the world. The Ingolstadt premises is the size of Monaco and even has its own train station – ‘Ingolstadt Audi’.
The huge site has been used by Audi to build cars for over 70 years, producing 441,608 cars in 2019 alone. The site uses modern production systems and high-tech solutions to ensure efficient and sustainable manufacturing. It has only used green electricity since 2012, going a long way to help Audi’s worldwide aim of achieving CO2-neutral production locations by 2025.
Audi is the first manufacturer to offer an insight into one of their factories in such a way, completely free of charge. The site can be covered in as little as 15 minutes and viewers will be able to see how 2,300 cars are produced daily by 45,000 workers. It will show every part of the process, right up to the point engines are switched on for the first time.
