Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To provide a professional support function to all branches and staff to ensure the efficient running of the Company’s bespoke computer systems and network. The position is based at our Head Office in Eastbourne with travel to other branches in the South East. 

This job is primarily field based to provide onsite troubleshooting, installations and support in all areas of the business, including manufacturer systems.   

When required, providing remote Help Desk support of Caffyns and Manufacturer systems.

  

                                     

MAIN WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Responsible to:   

Head of IT Operations

Relationships with:                     

Branch Managers and staff

Manufacturers' representatives

Suppliers and other representatives

OBJECTIVES AND KEY TASKS:

To support the Company’s IT infrastructure to the required standard, including:

Computer hardware and software installs & upgrades

Configuration and installation of new/replacement PC and peripheral hardware, including printers, and projectors

Network fault diagnosis

Support of installed applications assisting in diagnosing software faults

User management

Providing remote and face to face technical support

Creation of new user accounts

Diagnosing user faults eg logon issues, profile faults, permission errors

General Email configuration and mailbox creation

Bespoke manufacturer system maintenance

Phone system, WIFI and CCTV support

General

Log and respond to calls on the IT helpdesk

Write and maintain system documentation

Liaise with external support suppliers to resolve issues as required

Assist in other areas of the IT network as required

To assist in all areas and responsibilities of the IT department from administration tasks to branch refurbishments.   

   

To promote the Company through the presentation of a professional image when dealing with Suppliers and Manufacturers.

                                     

ADMINISTRATION:

                                     

To ensure that all clerical procedures within the IT Support function are carried out in accordance with Company policies.        

To continentally improve internal documentation of IT systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

GCSE English and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent.

Desirable

IT related Qualification GNVQ, NVQ, MCSE, MCP or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

Essential

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (especially Windows 7/10) Supporting hardware and software in a Windows 7 and 10 environment

An understanding of basic wireless and wired networks

A knowledge of Office 365

Desirable

Working with bespoke systems

Liaising with 3rd party technical partners

SKILLS

Essential

Ability to work effectively under pressure while prioritising multiple tasks
