Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To proactively identify tyre opportunities and then price for Service advisors to sell to customer. To repair tyres when possible. To carry wheel alignment duties including 4 wheel alignment.

Tyre bay condition

Tyre stock

Old carcases

Cleanliness and safety.

1.5) Absence:

In periods of absence the position is deputised by other staff as directed by the Aftersales Manager.

Other staff as directed by the Aftersales Manager.

2) OBJECTIVES AND KEY TASKS:

To identify tyre sales/need opportunities when cars arrive at Audi Centre. Price opportunities and allow Advisors to sell to customer; however there will be some occasions when the Tyre Technician will need to sell to the customer. Meet with customers to help them understand tyre need when required.

Ensure full understanding of 4 wheel alignment, wheel balancer, tyre changer and other associated tyre equipment.

Carry out Tyre work to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification.

Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.

Liaise and seek advice from colleagues and supervisors in situations that are over and above work specified.

Complete relevant service documentation. Manage tyre stock, with particular attention to overage stock and also manage demand against stock.

Ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are maintained at all times including the use of special and personal tools.

Work with other workshop and Audi Centre colleagues to provide excellent customer service.  Share best practice when appropriate.

To carry out their allocated work independently and under their own responsibility.

The employee has the right to obtain information from their Line Manager about the work allocated to them.

To provide their Line Manager of their own accord with important information about their working field and gives and/or obtains the necessary information from colleagues to ensure a proper running of the business.

3)    COMMUNICATION:

To maintain good communications with all departments and staff.

Maintain close relationships with the manufacturers, suppliers, statutory representatives and all other business related contacts.

To advise the Head of Business and managers on all related matters of importance.

4)    OTHER DUTIES:

This list of duties is not exhaustive and other tasks and responsibilities will be required of the post holder including any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Service Manager or Branch Manager.

5)    CONFIDENTIALITY:

All information relating to customers and the business is to be treated confidentially in line with Company policy and procedures.

6)    HEALTH AND SAFETY:
