MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Achieve and strive to exceed all targets and sales objectives through a well-developed and motivated sales team. Formulate policies and procedures to achieve maximum profitability from vehicles, finance, insurance and accessory sales. Maximise sales and profitability through satisfaction and retention of customers. Acquire and manage stock of appropriate used vehicles. Help retailer to achieve industry-leading standards of process efficiency and cost control. Ensure departmental compliance with company policies and industry guidelines.

2) OBJECTIVES AND KEY TASKS:
Objective: Achieve and strive to exceed all used car targets and sales objectives through a well-developed and motivated sales team
Ensure the sales team have full knowledge and understanding of product, promotional and marketing activities, and communicate visions and goals to staff by planning and preparing thoroughly for the daily sales meeting
Ensure departments are adequately staffed in order to achieve departmental objectives
Monitor achievements and review individual’s performance through the company’s development review process
Take a pro-active interest in training and developing team members, developing skills to support improvements in job performance and to aid career advancement
Work with the General Sales Manager to formulate policies and procedures to achieve maximum profitability from used vehicles, finance, insurance and accessory sales
Develop strategies, objectives and action plans to increase business and ensure maximum profitability and used volume sales targets are achieved and exceeded
Identify clearly the area of marketing responsibility and ensure relevant knowledge of demographics, using information available from the manufacturer
Plan, oversee and monitor the completion and success of sales campaigns, advertising and promotional activities to maximise car and extras sales and also create and maintain a positive and professional image of the retailer
Maximise sales and profitability through satisfaction and retention of customers
Ensure appropriate letters are sent to all customers to establish long-term marketing objectives and that all communication to the customer is clearly comprehensible and fully explained
Receive customers promptly and courteously at all times in accordance with Audi’s quality programme
Work to constantly improve the quality of customer service, in accordance with Audi’s guidelines and the CEM survey
Consult with customers to establish their needs and continue to maintain good relationships with customers by meeting and exceeding their expectations
Handle dissatisfied customers calmly, resolve complaints with sensitivity, and involve others when needed
Help achieve industry-leading standards of process efficiency and cost control
Develop and maintain good working relationships with all dealership personnel, operating a ‘share best practice’ policy, as well as representatives and staff of manufacturer
Monitor used sales performance against current goals and targets, ensuring used stock levels are sufficient to meet projected sales
Monitor and control departmental administration and procedures, to determine operating efficiency and expenditure within budget
Undertake all other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Head of Business or General Sales Manager
Display all point of sale and advertising literature as directed by the manufacturer
Ensure departmental compliance with company policies and industry guidelines
Ensure the correct handling of all cheque and cash transactions, compliant with company policy
Adhere strictly to trade plate regulations
Ensure all health and safety legislation and internal procedures are followed
Operate at all times within company policy
Specific Areas of Responsibility
To sell the maximum number of used vehicles via the use of an effective sales process, whilst at the same time achieve the best profit for the centre.
Responsible for marketing for the Used Sales Department.
Responsible for determining training needs within the used sales area of the business and to conduct internal coaching session as required.
Authorised to sign off sales customer orders in accordance with retailers’ limits of authority.
Working with the QMR & Head of Business to compile action plans for used CEM monthly and Quarterly reviews.
To approve list of Suppliers and sub-contractors. Carry out assessment of the approved suppliers and sub-contractors once per quarter.
Customer complaints to be fully evaluated to determine root cause and corrective/preventive measures agreed and implemented with the QMR every month.
To ensure all staff archive all documents as per HSO guidelines.
To maintain web site
Responsible for conducting part of daily sales meeting
Responsible for monitoring used vehicle stock.
Responsible for purchasing of used stock – ensuring on target on a monthly basis.
Required to assist with carrying out an annual review with all direct reportees.
3) OTHER DUTIES:
This list of duties is not exhaustive and other tasks and responsibilities will be required of the post holder including any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the General Sales Manager, Head of Business, Regional Director or Head Office staff.

Used Car Sales Manager, Worthing Audi
G.C.S.E Maths at Grade C or equivalent
G.C.S.E. English at Grade C or equivalent
FCA Accreditation or willing participation in training
A Level or Diploma in Business Management
Understanding of Finance and Insurance products
Ability to present information clearly and concisely
Good level of computer literacy, particularly with regards to databases and Microsoft applications
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a customer focused manner
Can demonstrate the ability to carry out tasks within set timeframes
Self-prioritise workload according to the business needs
Good time management skills
