Both the TX and VN5 electric van are powered by a lithium-ion battery which uses a petrol range extender to main the battery charger state, to allow you to drive all day with a total range of over 300 miles.
The rear wheels are always driven by the electric Drive Motor, and the motor in turn is powered by a 31kWh Drive Battery. The battery powers the vehicle, then the range extenders acts as a backup generator and is used to trickle-charge the battery to maintain its current state of charge.
On average you could save up to £110 per week on fuel. Electricity as a fuel is significantly cheaper than diesel or petrol, and is also kinder on the environment.
