All-New Volkswagen T-Cross World Premiere

The All-New Volkswagen T-Cross had its world premiere in Amsterdam yesterday evening (25th October 2018).

The press conference was streamed live on the internet for Volkswagen fans across the world to tune in and be the first to see this exciting new model. The T-Cross was introduced by Ralf Brandstatter, Chief Operating Officer of Volkswagen and Cara Delevingne, British supermodel, actress and musician.

Cara commented “I travel all the time, so working with Volkwagen, the largest auto maker in the world, is a perfect partnership for me. The T-Cross is more than just a City-SUV – it has multiple facets (like me!), and I love how stylish it is!”

The T-Cross is the manufacturer’s first small car SUV and its perfectly practical for city life and families alike. The model boasts a masculine design, with bold lines, a high stance and domineering grille. It is shorter than the T-Roc and more compact than the Tiguan, with a length of 4.11 metres. However, its generous 2.56 metre wheelbase offers a spacious interior with enough room for five people. There are also lots of versatility options, with the sliding rear seat being adjustable by 14 centimetres for more passenger leg room or luggage space. The luggage compartment holds between 385 and 455 litres, plus with the rear seat folded down can offer a generous 1.281 litres of storage.

Four turbocharged engines will be offered, all of which comply with the latest Euro 6d-TEMP emission standard; two 1.0 TSI three-cylinder petrol engines, a 1.5 TSI four-cylinder engine and 1.6 TDI four-cylinder engine.

Standard equipment in the T-Cross offers exceptional safety and infotainment features to ensure every drive taken is outstanding and connected. These include Front Assist, Pedestrian Monitoring and City Emergency Braking System, Hill Start Assist and Emergency Braking System. Many on-board functions are customisable and smartphones are able to be charged inductively, with up to four USB ports for even more convenience.

The All-New T-Cross will be manufactured at the Spanish Volkswagen factory in Navarra.
