Audi Reveals New-Look A4 and S4 Range

Audi has unveiled its new-look Audi A4 and S4 range, which also boasts exciting new high-tech specifications.

The updated A4 boasts newly designed headlights with LED technology as standard, complemented by a re-sculpted bumper and flatter Singleframe grille. Inside, an emphasis on horizontal lines enhances a sense of space. A new operating system based on the MIB 3 modular infotainment system offers even greater technical sophistication.

The model’s 10.1-inch hi-res MMI touch display is tilted slightly towards the driver. The touchscreen and free text input replace many rotary/pushbutton controls to create a sleek and uncluttered console. Navigation is now even more user friendly thanks to natural language voice control. On top of this, there are numerous driver assistance systems available with Tour, City and Park packages.

The first models to be launched are four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines all below the Euro 6d-temp emission standard limits. Three engine variants will feature a mild-hybrid system (MHEV), which reduce fuel consumption and increase comfort. A further two turbocharged engines will be added shortly after launch the 30 TDI 136PS and 35 TDI 163PS.

The updated S models boast a variety of new design details including quad exhaust tailpipes, updated lights and s mode on the Audi virtual cockpit.

The Audi S4 TDI and S4 TDI Avant will now be equipped with a V6 diesel engine. The 3.0 TDI can power the S4 TDI Saloon from 0 – 62mph in just 4.8 seconds, with an impressive top speed of 155mph proving power, torque and efficiency. For the first time, a powerful 48-volt belt alternator starter is being used at the heart of the mild-hybrid system. A lithium-ion battery with 0.5kWh is located under the luggage compartment floor to act as an energy management centre. This has the potential to reduce customer fuel consumption by up to 0.4 litres per 100km.

The A4 allroad quattro is also being updated, with a raised ride of 35mm, and a wider track of 6mm at the front and 11mm at the rear. As with the Avant, the generous luggage capacity is 495 litres or 1,495 with the rear seats folded down. Three engine variants are available – one TFSI petrol engine and two diesel units.

Ordering is expected to open in late June with first deliveries in September.
