CUPRA Sponsor Ducati At The MotoGP

The CUPRA brand continues to expand as they take over from SEAT as a sponsor for the Italian Ducati team at the MotoGP World Championship. The Ducati team for the championship includes three-time world champion Jorge Lorenzo from Spain and Andrea Dovizioso from Italy. Andrea is currently leading in the MotoGP standings.

CUPRA’s partnership with Ducati means they will be collaborating on joint actions throughout the year and the CUPRA logo will be displayed on the front of the Ducati motorcycles as well as on the riders racing leathers and uniforms of the team members. The team riders, Jorge and Andrea, are also CUPRA ambassadors and are enjoying getting around in their Leon CUPRA.

Antonino Labate, CUPRA Director of Strategy, Business Development and Operations, said: “We are very excited to be a part of this team which shares our passion for competition. The CUPRA spirit and vision are going to permeate the MotoGP World Championship in collaboration with Ducati, a brand we share values with such as design, passion, nonconformity and a clear commitment to innovation and technology.”

The Ducati Corse Sporting Director, Paolo Ciabatti, commented: “It gives us great pleasure to continue our collaboration with the Spanish car manufacturer for a second successive year, this time under a new sporting guise of CUPRA. Both of our Ducati Team riders, Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo, will continue to give enhanced visibility to this innovative sporting partnership in their role as CUPRA brand ambassadors and collaborators both on and off the track.”

The MotoGP World Championship began in Qatar on 18th March and is scheduled to finish in Valnecia on 18th November. The full calendar includes 19 races, now with the inclusion of the Thailand GP in Buriram. The Grands Prix will be held in 15 different countries on five continents with over 2 million spectators watching worldwide.
