ŠKODA ENYAQ iV Achieves 5-star Euro NCAP Rating
Every model in the ŠKODA family is crafted with safety at its core. That’s why we are pleased to announce the new ENYAQ iV will be joining the line-up of five-star NCAP rated ŠKODA models. The all-new, fully electric ŠKODA SUV has been ranked amongst some of the safest vehicles on the market. The ENYAQ iV achieved 86% of the points available as part of the rigorous European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). With multiple areas given safety scores, the ŠKODA ENYAQ iV achieved the best result to date for the occupant protection category – scoring 94% for adult passengers and 89% for children. The ENYAQ iV joins the brand’s bestseller, the OCTAVIA, as well as the compact model SCALA and SUV models KODIAQ, KAROQ and KAMIQ, among others, which have all received the five-star rating.
“We are delighted to receive a five-star evaluation for the new ŠKODA ENYAQ iV in the Euro NCAP test. We are particularly proud of the result for the protection of adults and children in the interior. The fact that we have extended the successful record of five-star results for our vehicles even after the more stringent test parameters were introduced last year confirms our strong commitment to the safety of our customers and all other road users.”

The Euro NCAP testing was made even more stringent in 2020, making the ENYAQ iV score even more astonishing. The zero-emission SUV boasts up to nine airbags, including a central airbag between the front seats, and comprehensive Proactive Occupant Protection. The technology provides a whole host of safety systems which alert the driver to potential collisions in many situations and even actively help to prevent them or minimise the consequences. From the Front Assist with predictive pedestrian and cyclist protection, Side Assist including Rear Traffic Alert, and Collision Avoidance Assist, to Turn Assist and Exit Warning, it’s no wonder the ENYAQ iV ranked so highly. What’s more, Travel Assist actively supports the driver in longitudinally and laterally controlling the vehicle and, along with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), also includes Adaptive Lane Assist with roadworks recognition, Traffic Jam Assist and Emergency Assist. Plus, the head-up display incorporates augmented reality for the first time, and full LED matrix headlights are also available as an extra option.
The Euro NCAP testing includes crash tests on current vehicle models and evaluates their active and passive safety. The tests are continuously made more stringent and now include various collision scenarios. While initially only the results of crash tests were evaluated, the ratings of active safety systems, as well as driver assistance systems, now have a greater weighting in the overall evaluation.
