ŠKODA KAMIQ First Sketches Revealed
The ŠKODA KAMIQ is set to be fully unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2019 but to keep excitement building they have released their first sketches of the car and a first look at the interior.
The KAMIQ is set to continue the SUV range’s rugged looks and powerful stance. The most obvious new design feature is the car’s modern split headlight with daytime running lights above – a first for ŠKODA. The KAMIQ is also the first ŠKODA to feature dynamic indicators at the front and rear.
At the front, the KAMIQ boasts a wide and confident stance with sculpted bonnet and robust silver-coloured front spoiler. Extra ground clearance and large wheels hint at the model’s off-road personality, whilst keeping the familiar ŠKODA style that fans love.
Oliver Stefani, ŠKODA Chief Designer, explained: “In our new KAMIQ city SUV we’ve implemented a completely new headlamp configuration. The two-part headlamps with daytime running lights above are a first for ŠKODA. They give the KAMIQ a unique appearance and represent another interpretation of our successful SUV design language.”
The KAMIQ’s interior has also been presented and combines ergonomics with a generous amount of space. The cabin boasts a freestanding 10.25-inch screen and a redesigned instrument panel. Side air vents extend into the doors, further enhancing the feeling of space in the cabin.
Ambient lighting is available in the colours copper, red or white, adding a stylish visual accent and an interesting contrast to the seat cover stitching. Sueda, a fine microfibre material, is also available as an upholstery option. The KAMIQ is offered with optional heating for the windscreen, rear seats and steering wheel.
The Geneva Motor Show takes place from 5th to 17th March 2019.
