ŠKODA Wins Two Awards At The Fleet World Honours

ŠKODA have received two awards at the yearly Fleet World Honours, where the ŠKODA Superb was awarded its third Best Upper Medium Car after earning the title again. The second award was earned by the new Kodiaq which was awarded the title of Best Large Family Car of the Year.

It's no surprise the ŠKODA Superb won the title of Best Upper Medium Car as this is the third consecutive year receiving the award. It also boasts low maintenance costs with a large interior that has 660 litres of boot space which can be increased to 1950 when the rear seats are collapsed. The Superb also has a wide range of engines available from powertrain options that range from 120ps up to 280ps, as well as a variety of driver assistance systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Park Assist and Blind Spot Detect.

Alex Grant, an editor at Fleet World commented on the Superb's win saying “The Superb takes its third successive win in this category, because it remains a no-brainer for fleets. It’s not only a highly functional, cost-efficient product for job-need users, but the design, refinement and driving experience has lured drivers out of premium products. ŠKODA has, quite rightly, become the benchmark even its longest-standing rivals measure themselves by.”

The Superb was not the only winner at the Fleet World Honours, with the ŠKODA Kodiaq securing the title of the Best Large Family Car thanks to its versatility. Able to seat seven people, the Kodiaq has advanced safety features along with innovative technology such as the SmartLink+ and touchscreen which allows drivers to remain connected to the rest of the world when on the road. The Kodiaq models also boast the largest amount of space in its class of vehicle with the five or seven seat models getting 720/630 litres of boot space that can be increased to 2065/2005 respectively with the rear seats down.

Commenting further on the success of ŠKODA, Alex Grant said “ŠKODA prides itself on clever solutions to family life, and the Kodiaq takes that into new territory. Available with seven adult-sized seats and packed full of storage space, it’s a flexible alternative to the traditional MPV, offered with an extensive range of drivetrains and trims to suit most users. A family-mover perfectly tuned to market tastes, and clever with it.”

After the success of ŠKODA at the Fleet World Honours, Henry Williams who is the Head of Fleet for ŠKODA UK had this to say: “Three years after its launch, it’s fantastic to see that the ŠKODA Superb still lives up to its name and remains in high demand from businesses looking for an executive car that delivers on style, performance and value for money. We look forward to the Kodiaq continuing to be a stand-out SUV in the sector over the next few years as well.
