New All-Electric ID.3 Test Drive Review

Tom from Caffyns Volkswagen Eastbourne recently took the New all-electric ID.3 out and put it through its paces with his family. He tested its practicality, its technology and its style. Read on now to see the verdict!

For a small family car, we are incredibly impressed with the huge amounts of space the ID.3 has to offer. Fit for all the family, the spacious amounts of leg room and ample head height is ideal for children and adults alike. When on test, we took the ID.3 to do a weekly shop, and the 385L boot space does not disappoint. With 5 large shopping bags and a box in the boot, there was still plenty of room for other luggage and personal possessions. The size of the ID.3 makes manoeuvring and parking a breeze and a pure delight to drive, easily getting down narrow country lanes and into tight parking spaces.

Volkswagen have taken the technology on the ID.3 to a whole new level. With an impressive infotainment system, stunning mood lighting and natural voice control, all you need to do is say ‘Hello ID.’ followed by your command and the car will do what you have asked. You can control the temperature, the media and even the heated seats through its impressive voice control. With the Pro Performance 58kWh battery, you can get a hefty 263 miles of range. If using a fast charge station, you can get an 80% charge in an impressive 35 minutes, ideal for those long motorway journeys.

The ID.3 has style that would suit every individual. We love the fact you can personalise both the interior and exterior of the car to show of your own personality. With exterior colours ranging from Makena Turquoise to Stonewashed Blue, and Saffron Orange interior inlays, there is an ID.3 for everyone.

Over the course of the day, we really enjoyed driving the new all-electric ID.3. The practicality, technology and style has really impressed us. This has shown us that electric cars are just as fun and exciting as traditional petrol and diesel Volkswagen’s. Overall, this is a great all-rounder and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for Volkswagen and the new ID family!
