New Audi R8 Is Even More Powerful

The new Audi R8 will boast exciting updates when the new model is released in early 2019.

This new production model follows on from the recent world premiere of the R8 LMS GT3 at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. The Coupé and Spyder models will feature a sportier design and more powerful engines for drivers to enjoy.

Oliver Hoffman, Technical Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH commented “It’s now even more powerful and faster. Motorsport is part of our DNA. With around 50 percent shared parts with the R8 LMS GT3 and even 60 percent with the R8 LMS GT4, no other automobile is so close to motor racing as the R8.”

The model’s improved V10 naturally aspirated engine is extremely compact, with a separate radiator that controls the temperature of the engine oil. This principle, adopted from motor racing, allows for a low installation position, therefore producing a low centre of gravity. Its modified suspension creates even more stability and precision, with further assistance from its dynamic steering.

Three additional programs; dry, wet and snow, have been added to the well-known Audi drive select modes, helping to adapt to specific road conditions and further improve all-round handling on any road.

As well as outstanding performance, the new R8 will boast stunning design features that turn heads wherever it roams. Its Singleframe radiator grille has a wider, flatter line, whilst thick bars divide up large air inlets. Its new front splitter is also now wider, along with the striking rear low-set air vent grille.

There will be a choice of three exterior packages which adds various highlights and options to the model’s look, so you can create a car that’s truly personal. New metallic colours Kemora Gray and Ascari Blue have also been added to the paint range.

The new Audi R8 is expected to be available throughout Europe at the start of 2019. Learn more about the current Audi R8 model and for more information contact Caffyns Audi today.
