The All New Grandland X Hybrid4 Coming Soon To Caffyns Vauxhall
Featuring state-of-the-art plug-in hybrid technology, the new Grandland X Hybrid4 is Vauxhall’s first-ever plug-in hybrid. The hybrids 1.6-litre turbocharged direct injection four-cylinder petrol engine, works with the electric drive system which features two electric motors (combined output 109hp) and a 13.2kWh lithium-ion battery, producing up to 300hp, and offering a combined fuel consumption (preliminary WLTP/NEDC) of 128mpg, emitting just 49g/km CO2.
With a Euro 6d-TEMP-compliant petrol engine and built specially for the hybrid powertrain, the Grandland X Hybrid4 is another step towards Vauxhall’s commitment to an entirely electric range by 2024. The front electric motor is coupled to an electrified eight-speed automatic transmission, while the second motor and differential are integrated into the electrically powered rear axle, providing all-wheel traction on demand.
Offering four driving modes – electric, hybrid, AWD and Sport, the Grandland X Hybrid4 is an allrounder. With a range of 30 miles (according to WLTP1) in full electric mode, the hybrid is perfect for city drives which would overwise emit a high level of pollution. Furthermore, hybrid mode automatically selects the most efficient method of propulsion. Increasing the electric range by up to 10%, the innovative regenerative braking system reserves energy to be used later on, also improving efficiency.
The Grandland X Hybrid4 is inclusive of a 3.3kW on-board charger, with the option of a 6.6kW version also available. With the Grandland X Hybrid4, Vauxhall will offer devices for fast charging at public stations, in addition to wallboxes at home - providing 7.4kW, the vehicle can be fully charged in less than two hours.
To further the convenience, owners of the Grandland X Hybrid4 will benefit from Vauxhall’s Free2Move Services, offering more than 85,000 charging points across Europe. Inclusive of a trip planner, which suggests the best routes based on the vehicle’s remaining range, highlighting the location of charging stations along the way. With the Navi 5.0 IntelliLink infotainment system, as standard, drivers can navigate to the selected charging station.
The Grandland X Hybrid4 features the new Vauxhall Connect telematics service which includes Live Navigation and real-time traffic information, as well as the ability to check key vehicle data via an app. The technology offers a direct connection with roadside assistance, providing the driver and passengers with additional peace-of-mind. What’s more, if seatbelt tensioners or airbags are deployed, an emergency call is activated automatically, in addition to a manual button on the central console.
Later this year, the fully battery electric version of the next-generation Corsa will be available to order, followed by the new Vivaro Life MPV, new Vivaro LCV and the successor to the Mokka X – all of which will feature a fully electric version.
