Tech and Safety Equipment For The New XC40 Revealed

Volvo’s first compact SUV, the new XC40, will have Tech and Safety kits similar to the XC60 and XC90 models and will thus feature Pilot Assist and the City Safety pack will fitted as standard, indicating that all cars, regardless of trim level, will have autonomous emergency braking. Land Assist tech will also be present in the new SUV, including Run-Off Road Mitigation, Cross Traffic Alert, a new generation forward collision warning system and a 360-degree top down camera.

Inside the cabin, the XC40 features the same 9” portrait infotainment system that is found in the bigger XC60 and XC90 models, whilst customers can opt for the 12” digital dials.

Volvo hopes to make a statement with the new XC40, as a distinctive member of the brands SUV line-up. Volvo has teased a similar exterior shape to the XC60, whilst the XC40 is expected to be much bolder and impactful.

There are a wide number of personalisation options offering a vibrant range of colours, with two-tone paint finishes available, whilst the interior can be fitted with colourful options, such as ‘Lava Orange’ carpet and ‘Oxide Red’ leather upholstery.

The XC40 will sit on an all-new platform designed specifically for small cars called Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) and Volvo has confirmed that a Twin Engine plug-in hybrid technology will feature in the SUV also.

The XC40 will officially debut later on this year.
