The New SEAT Tarraco e-HYBRID Enters Production
The new SEAT Tarraco e-HYBRID has entered production, making it the third electrified model in the brand's line-up. The plug-in hybrid version of the flagship SUV is the most powerful Tarraco to date, boasting a maximum power of 245PS. The new 13kWh lithium-ion battery pack is capable of travelling in all-electric mode with zero CO2 emissions for 30 miles. Plus, when both petrol and electric are combined, the plug-in hybrid can reach up to 450 miles.
With the SEAT Mii electric and new SEAT Leon e-Hybrid and Leon e-Hybrid estate models, the latest pillar of SEAT’s electrified range is a combination of performance and efficiency, with all the benefits of a strong and capable SUV.
“SEAT continues its electrified offensive as it transforms its offering to a more sustainable future, with the introduction of its 3rd electrified model: the SEAT Tarraco e-HYBRID. The electrification of our large SUV takes plug-in hybrids to a new segment, shows our commitment to the technology while taking us a step closer to our aim of making electric available to all.”
Wayne Griffiths, President of SEAT.
The plug-in hybrid offers a variety of driving modes, including electric only mode and a combined mode, both providing increased efficiency on any adventure. All-electric mode is launched from the start up when the battery is sufficiently charged. When the energy capability of the battery drops below a certain level, the drive switches to Hybrid mode. This driving mode allows the driver to maintain the status of charge, increase it or reduce it to a well-defined level.
The e-Mode, Automatic Hybrid or Manual Hybrid driving modes are accessible and configurable via the infotainment system, the SEAT Tarraco e-HYBRID features two specific buttons - e-Mode and s-Boost - located next to the newly designed and illuminated gear knob.
The new SEAT Tarraco e-HYBRID battery can be plugged in and replenished in as little as 3 and a half hours using a 3.6kW charger (Wallbox), or little less than 5 hours using a 2.3kW charger. The charging process can be managed through the SEAT Connect App, as well as providing access to the vehicle date and controlling climatization remotely. Plus, with a choice of Xcellence and FR trims, the SEAT Tarraco e-HYBRID can be matched more specifically to your needs.
In a further step towards the brand’s electrification, SEAT has set up the electromobility Learning Center (eLC). The training centre offers a location for more than 15,000 employees to be trained in new hybrid and electric technologies. What’s more, the centre has also begun construction on new Test Center Energy (its own battery laboratory which will enable vehicles, cell modules and battery groups to be tested).
