The World Premiere of the New T-Roc
Volkswagen has extended its model range to include a compact crossover SUV; The T-Roc. The T-Roc offers customers top-of-the-range, innovative entertainment and driver assistant technologies, optimum personalisation options, powerful & dynamic engines and a contemporary, striking design. This crossover is at home on all terrains, from rough off-roading to smooth city driving.
A Chairman of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management, Dr Herbert Diess, commented at the T-Roc world premiere in Italy: “The T-Roc sets a new benchmark in the booming SUV segment. With its functionality dynamic handling and technology, the T-Roc embodies all good Volkswagen qualities. It marks a milestone in our SUV offensive.”
The SUV market within the automotive industry is doing incredibly well, particularly the compact segment, which expert’s estimate will grow twice its current size over the next decade. For this reason, Volkswagen is introducing the T-Roc as its smaller SUV model below the Tiguan
. The expressive design and versatility of the T-Roc means it appeals to customers of every age. The sporty character and innovative digitalisation of the model showcase Volkswagen’s new and emotive style and sets a new course within the model range.
Customers can choose from a front-wheel or all-wheel drive variants and a number of colour combinations are available for personalising to each customers taste. The T-Roc will be the first Volkswagen SUV available to order in two-tone paintwork and an impressively contrasting roof section.
On the outside, the snappy and sharp lines define the T-Roc’s style. At the front of the SUV there is a wide radiator grille unit with integrated dual headlights with a repositioned light signature, ensuring the T-Roc is distinguishable even at night. Running from the A-pillars across the side roof line to the C-pillar is a striking chrome element, emphasising the elongated silhouette of the model in a way that is reminiscent of a coupe. Protecting the bodywork from off-road adventures and rough terrain is an all-round, dark plastic trim around the wheel arches, side sills and the front and rear of the vehicle.
The interior cabin of the T-Roc is packed with new features, including an Active Info Display system, with smartphone connectivity and Volkswagen Car Net to provide a wide spectrum of online apps and services, as well as integration of telephone and media for the best infotainment system possible. The T-Roc is also offered with a ‘Security and Service’ package, which includes Emergency Service, Automatic Accident Notification and Roadside Assistance.
In terms of storage space, when all five seats are occupied, the T-Roc offers 445 litres and once the backrests are folded down, there is a capacity of up to 1,290 litres, making the model one of the most spacious in its class.
