Triple Success for ŠKODA in ‘All-Wheel-Drive Car of the Year’ Poll

ŠKODA have enjoyed triple success in this year’s ‘All-Wheel-Drive Car of the Year’ poll, voted annually by readers of German all-wheel-drive car magazine Auto Bild Allrad.

The ŠKODA SUPERB won the ‘AWD passenger cars up to 40,000 euros’ category, the OCTAVIA SCOUT was the winner of the ‘AWD crossover’ category and the KODIAQ took first place in the ‘Off-road vehicles and SUVs up to 35,000 euros’ category. This is the tenth time the SUPERB has won at the awards, the fifth award for the OCATVIA SCOUT and the second win for the KODIAQ.

2019 marks the 18th time the magazine’s readers have chosen the ‘All-Wheel-Drive Cars of the Year’. This year, there were 211 vehicles nominated overall across ten categories. Readers were invited to vote for their winners between 4th January and 1st February. Amongst the winning ŠKODA models, the SUPERB received the best individual result, with 9.97 per cent of votes cast. The OCTAVIA SCOUT gained 8.18 per cent and the KODIAQ won 7.80 per cent.

ŠKODA have a rich history of offering fantastic all-wheel-drive vehicles to customers, first developing prototypes of vehicles featuring more than one driven axle in the late 1930s. ŠKODA’s 4x4 modern day success began in 1999 with the OCTAVIA COMBI and has manufactured over 700,000 all-wheel-drive vehicles since. Today, the KAROQ, KODIAQ, OCTAVIA and SUPERB are all available with all-wheel drive.
