Vauxhall Confirms Fully Electric Models Remain Eligible For Grant

Vauxhall has announced that the fully electric models in its range will remain eligible for the government Plug-In Car Grant.

Last week, the government announced changes to the grant, reducing it from £3,000 to £2,500, with electric models costing more than £35,000 RRP no longer eligible. To ensure that all models have access to the incentive, Vauxhall has updated the prices of the Mokka-e and Vivaro e-Life, effective immediately. All variants of the Corsa-e already qualify under the new rules, and will therefore not be subject to any price changes.

Prices for the Mokka-e SE Premium now start from £33,040 OTR, with the range topping Mokka-e Launch Edition starting from £34,995 OTR. The Vivaro-e Life’s price has been realigned by more than £2,000, with prices now starting from £34,995 OTR. The Vivaro-e Life Combi, with the same specification as the Edition model, will also start from £34,995 OTR.

"At Vauxhall, we believe in making sure our vehicles are as accessible as possible to the greatest number of people, and especially so when it comes to zero emissions-in-use motoring, so I am pleased to confirm that all Corsa-e, all Mokka-e and the new Vivaro-e Life Combi are eligible for the Government Plug-in Car Grant.”

- Paul Wilcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall

Vauxhall aims to make electric driving an easy and viable option for customers, whilst aiming to offer an electric variant across the whole model line up by 2025. Customers are now also able to order from the whole range via their new online store.

To make electric models even more tempting, Corsa-e customers will have the option to take a free Wallbox Pulsar Plus charger, professionally installed by a British Gas engineer. British Gas will also offer 30,000 free green miles to customers via their EV dual fuel tariff. The special EV tariff offers cheaper electricity overnight for charging between midnight and 5am and the electricity will be 100% renewable energy.

Any customers who purchase the Mokka-e will be offered a subsidised 7kW home charging unit from PodPoint for just £299. What’s more, any fully-electric vehicles purchased will be automatically registered for eight years battery warranty, eight years roadside assistance and six months Polar Plus subscription.
