Volkswagen Group Donates Protective Face Masks To Public Health Sector

Volkswagen Group will be providing around 200,000 category FFP-2 and FFP-3 protective face masks to the public health sector. It is hoped the masks will help protect health workers doing extremely important work during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation is being made in close co-operation with Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn.

“Solidarity takes priority for Volkswagen. This principle also applies beyond the factory gate. People working in the public health sector are currently performing outstanding services to society. We are convinced that these face masks will be put to the best use by them. The opinion of the Board of Management is unanimous: Volkswagen is pleased to provide unbureaucratic support.”

- Volkswagen HR Board Member Gunnar Kilian

Volkswagen Group is also planning to donate further medical materials to the city of Wolfsburg to join the fight against the Coronavirus. The German city is home to the Volkswagen Group headquarters.

In the UK and across the rest of Europe, the manufacturer has implemented the temporary closure of its factories to ensure optimum health of the workforce and the wider general public.
