How often should I service my car?

At Caffyns we have different service schedules depending on what type of driver you are, whether you are driving longer distances typically on motorways or you are a lower-mileage town driver we have service schedules in place to ensure your car remains in the best condition.

Our Minor Services are recommended every 12 months/10,000 (whichever comes first) to help prevent little problem turning into big ones.

Our Major Services are recommended every 24 months or 20,000 miles (whichever comes first).

Please check with your manufacturer for the recommended service intervals.

What is the difference between a minor and major service?

The difference between the minor and major service is the checks and work completed within the service, the minor service is recommended every 12 months or 10,000 miles and will complete an oil and filter change as standard and a vehicle inspection, please consult your manufacturer for complete list of minor service work.

The major service is recommended every 24 month or 20,000 miles and is a comprehensive check that can include checking and topping oil levels, oil and filter change and replacement filters, please check with your manufacturer for a comprehensive list of major service work.

What is a service plan?

Our service plans ensure that your scheduled servicing is managed, depending on your manufacturer that will ensure your consecutive services are paid for. The Service Plan includes service items that are recommended within your manufacturers service schedule. Any work that needs to be completed that is not within the schedule including wear and tear items will need to be paid for separately and will be under fixed price maintenance.

How do I pay for the services, what options are there?

There are two ways you can pay for your servicing; firstly you can pay for the cost of the service on the day. Alternatively, depending on your manufacturer you can budget your servicing with affordable monthly payments throughout the duration of your service plan to help manage and spread the cost.

What is fixed price maintenance?

It is important to have certain maintenance jobs carried out at regular intervals in addition to regular services, this will keep your car in the best condition and save you from potentially bigger problems in the future. Our fixed price maintenance includes brakes, air conditioning, checks, cambelt, wipers and batteries.

What are the benefits of services at Caffyns?

All work will be completed by our manufacturer trained technicians who will only use approved manufacturer parts, what’s more selected manufacturer parts also come with up to two years warranty for parts and labour too (excluding wear and tear items).

Your car will be serviced to manufacturer recommended standards, which will maintain any remaining warranty but also assists in the reliability and the efficiency of your car, which can also save you money, it will also help with enhancing your car’s resale value.
