ŠKODA Produces 250,000th KAROQ
ŠKODA has recently reached an impressive milestone by surpassing the 250,000 mark of KAROQ models built in just two years after production began.
The 250,000th model rolled off the production line at the ŠKODA Auto plant in Mlada Boleslav. It was a 1.0 TSI 85kW variant in metallic Black Magic finish.
“This milestone is proof of how popular the ŠKODA KAROQ is. The fact that it has just taken a little over two years after start of production to exceed the mark of 250,000 cars manufactured is a huge success and underlines the importance of the KAROQ in our attractive model range.”
- Michael Oeljeklaus, ŠKODA AUTO Board Member for Production and Logistics
The KAROQ was first premiered in Stockholm in May 2017 and serial production began in July in Kvansiny. In January 2018, it also started to be produced in Mlada Boleslav. 115,700 KAROQ’s were delivered to customers in 2018, with 97,900 delivered so far this year. It is now one of the most popular models in the ŠKODA range.
The ŠKODA KAROQ 2020 model year boasts improved safety and comfort features. Side Assist is now available, which warns the driver of vehicles in the blind spot up to 70m away. Additional services and online features have also been added to the innovative ŠKODA Connect infotainment system. On top of this, an improved chassis and Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) ensures trips on rougher terrains are easier than ever, available for both front and all-wheel drive variants.
ŠKODA has been proudly producing an exceptional range of SUV models since the KODIAQ was first introduced in 2016. With the KAROQ and KAMIQ joining the segment more recently, the Czech manufacturer is fast becoming one of the most popular and attractive choices for adventure-ready drivers.
