Next-Generation Vauxhall Mokka Shows New Face
The new Vauxhall Mokka will be the first model to feature the new face from the brand – the Vauxhall Vizor. The new Vizor is certain to attract a lot of attention due to its unique design. Described as a full-face helmet, it is a protective vizor that organically integrates the grille, the headlights and the Vauxhall logo all smoothly in one module.
Sweeping across the front of the Mokka, the Vauxhall Vizor stretches the full width and sits just below the bonnet. The intricate design integrates the headlights and the legendary Vauxhall Griffin emblem, which sits proudly in the centre. The Mokka will be available with high-quality LED lamps as well as the latest generation of IntelliLux LED matrix headlights.
Mark Adams, Vauxhall-Opel Design Vice President comments on the new design: “It was very important for us to create a fresh new face for the brand that was true to our future design philosophy of being both bold and pure. Our new ‘Vizor’ theme is very clear and distinctive, whilst also having a clear historical connection to the Vauxhall Firenza, which has a similarly clean horizontal layout with crisply defined centre crease. There is no need for a classic grille in electric cars like the Vauxhall Mokka-e, so the Vizor creates a seamless integration of future lighting and other technologies, all located within a high tech protective surface.”
Other noticeable changes include the prominence of the Vauxhall Griffin logo in the centre of the Vizor. The Mokka will also see a sharper and clearer crease in the hood, which will be a typical feature of the latest Vauxhall vehicles, along with the wing-shaped graphic of the LED daytime running lights.
The Vauxhall Vizor will become a hallmark of all Vauxhall models throughout 2020.
