Volvo Cars Takes Steps To Help Keep Customers Safe

Volvo Cars UK has been helping and supporting its customers during the coronavirus pandemic, from helping to improve the online buying experience for new and used cars, to extending servicing intervals and delaying non-essential work. Within the workshops social distancing measures have been put in place to protect customer's cars that need urgent repairs and maintenance.

Volvo's online sales platform has been upgraded to enhance the 'stay at home' buying experience. Arguably one of the most comprehensive sales platforms offered by any car manufacturer in the UK, Volvo's online platform now incorporates a live chat function to create a personalised and convenient service.

The online sales platform offers flexibility, security and convenience, but most importantly customers can complete the buying process from the safety of their own home. For those choosing to buy a car online, you can configure the entire Volvo range from choosing the powertrain and equipment options to colours and accessories. Customers can then select their preferred payment option, including personal contract purchase (PCP), conditional sale or cash purchase. Within the online platform you can even part-exchange your old vehicle, apply for finance and sign the agreement, in as little as 20 minutes. Customers can also choose contactless home delivery of their new car, in line with government guidance.

Kristian Elvefors, Managing Director at Volvo Cars UK, said: "At Volvo, everything we do starts with safety. Whilst we are here for all of our customers and their varying requirements - whether buying a car online or keeping their existing vehicle running - we want to reassure them that they can interact with us safely at every step".

During the pandemic Volvo has kept many workshops open to help keep emergency services and key workers' vehicles safe and on the road. For those who do not need to make journeys during the lockdown period, Volvo has offered a three-month extension to servicing time limits. The same extensions have also been applied to new car warranties and roadside assistance packages.

All servicing, maintenance and deliveries will be carried out using the government advice including social distancing and hygiene measure. Cars are protected with covers to the steering wheel, gearlever and seats, with keys handed over in sealed bags. First time deliveries will include a brief video handover, with a detailed digital guide sent afterwards.
