Experienced Payroll Administrator
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly organised experienced Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team.
Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor and working closely with the Finance Director, HR, Regional Directors, Branch Managers and employees across the Company, you will play a key role in ensuring our payroll is processed accurately, efficiently and on time.
The Role
As Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the full range of monthly payroll activities, maintaining accurate employee records and providing advice and support on payroll-related matters.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing new starters and maintaining accurate employee payroll records.
- Managing monthly timesheets and processing overtime, bonuses, commissions, holiday pay and sickness.
- Calculating final payments for leavers, including holiday pay, overtime, bonuses and other outstanding payments.
- Preparing and distributing electronic payslips, P45s, P60s, P11Ds and other payroll documentation.
- Processing salary payments via BACS and ensuring statutory and other payments are made accurately and within required deadlines.
- Maintaining accurate pension, sickness, employee and payroll records.
- Producing regular and ad-hoc payroll reports using Excel and payroll software.
- Providing payroll information and support to HR, management and external agencies.
- Responding professionally and efficiently to payroll enquiries from employees, branches, pensioners and external organisations.
- Providing guidance on payroll matters to Regional Directors, Branch Managers and Branch Administrators.
- Providing cover for the Payroll Supervisor and processing the Pension Fund Payroll when required.
- Assisting with account reconciliations and ad-hoc projects across the business.
- Keeping up to date with relevant payroll legislation, procedures and data protection requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone who is accurate, organised and confident working independently, with excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of payroll processes.
You will need to be comfortable working with confidential information, meeting strict deadlines and managing a varied workload. Strong Excel and payroll software skills are essential, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear and professional advice to colleagues at all levels.
A good knowledge of UK payroll legislation, statutory requirements and payroll procedures is highly desirable.
