As a Service Advisor, you will be the key link between our customers and our Service Department, ensuring every customer receives a professional, efficient and positive experience from booking through to vehicle collection.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing customer bookings, understanding their vehicle requirements, communicating with technicians and keeping customers informed throughout the repair or servicing process.

You will also play an important role in supporting the Service Department to maximise workshop utilisation and revenue by identifying and recommending additional work and services where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take customer bookings and accurately record their requirements.

  • Create clear and accurate job cards for technicians to work from.

  • Keep customers informed throughout the servicing and repair process, including any delays or additional work required.

  • Explain estimates, invoices and work carried out clearly to customers.

  • Identify and promote additional servicing, repairs, accessories and other services where appropriate.

  • Advise customers on future vehicle maintenance requirements.

  • Ensure payment is collected for all relevant service and repair work.

  • Manage courtesy cars and assist with vehicle collection and delivery arrangements.

  • Liaise with technicians, Parts, Sales, manufacturers, suppliers and other departments.

  • Monitor pending jobs, parts awaiting fitment and work in progress.

  • Pre-order parts for customer bookings to help ensure work is completed efficiently.

  • Help maximise workshop bookings and contribute towards departmental revenue targets.

  • Deal with customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally.

  • Maintain accurate administration and ensure company procedures are followed.

  • Ensure Health & Safety, confidentiality and company policies are adhered to at all times.

  • Maintain a professional, organised and welcoming Service Reception area.

  • Attend relevant manufacturer and company training as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Is confident dealing with customers both in person and over the telephone.

  • Is organised, methodical and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.

  • Has a professional and courteous approach.

  • Can build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.

  • Has good attention to detail and understands the importance of accurate administration.

  • Is commercially aware and comfortable identifying opportunities for additional work and services.

  • Works well as part of a team.

  • Has good IT and administrative skills.

  • Has an interest in the automotive industry and a willingness to develop their technical knowledge.

Previous experience in a Service Advisor, Aftersales or automotive customer service role would be advantageous, although candidates with strong customer service and organisational skills will also be considered.

Why Join Us?

As a Service Advisor, you'll have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with customers while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.

You'll play a vital role in the success of the Service Department, with opportunities to develop your automotive knowledge, customer service skills and commercial awareness through ongoing training and experience.

If you're passionate about delivering excellent customer service and want to develop your career within the automotive industry, we'd love to hear from you.
