At the start of the new model year, Audi will be adding new features to the A5, Q5 and A6 e-tron series with sales to begin mid-December.

On the Audi S5 and S6 e-tron, drivers can enjoy an intense driving experience with the new drive select mode ‘dynamic plus’. This mode has been designed for rear-biased driving dynamics and sporty handling. For the Audi S5, this has been done through the active lateral distribution of drive power by the standard quattro sport differential and in the Audi S6 e-tron, through the electric quattro all-wheel drive system.
When utilising the ‘dynamic plus’ mode, this will change the display in the driver information system. A central rev counter with shift light and gear indicator will show in the combustion model while a power meter is displayed in the electric model.
Regenerative braking and efficiency of the electric PPE models are also being improved so vehicles are able to decelerate to a standstill without transitioning to conventional friction brakes. For a smoother braking experience which will also recover additional kinetic energy that can be used for energy regeneration and improving efficiency.
Audi will also be looking to improve safety with an advanced form of adaptive cruise control which will also support lane changes initiated by the driver. More so, with the additional traffic sign recognition this will adjust the vehicle’s speed depending on which traffic sign it sees. Speed can automatically be reduced as the vehicle recognises stop signs, uneven road-surfaces and right-of-way rules.
In the optional park assist pro, Audi are expanding their functions to also include reverse assist which takes over steering for the last 50 metres. Trained parking will also be included which can save up to five different parking manoeuvres and perform them on private property.
The interior digital cockpit has also been updated. Audi has replaced some touch-sensitive functions with physical controls. Customers will also have the choice between three virtual Audi cockpits, either the classic round instrument, navigation view or the integrated driver assist display.
Another update for the model year change will be on the Audi assistance. This will include new functions with artificial intelligence by accessing information in the logbook and answering questions about your vehicle. It will also be able to recognise any behavioural patterns and adopt them as routines.
Customers can also opt in for the optional dashcam, fitted into the base of the interior mirror. It can be activated either automatically or manually and saves up to 30 seconds before and after the incident.
The interior has been updated to create a more inviting environment. It will introduce tailored mood scenarios to exercise the lighting, sound and massage functions of the vehicle. At the start of the model year will include Activating, Relaxing and Harmonising scenarios.
The updates and changes will be rolled in at the start of the next model year with sales taking place mid-December.
