Audi To Unveil New A2 e-tron
Audi A2 e-tron

In the autumn of this year, Audi will unveil the new A2 e-tron which will complement its portfolio with an all-electric entry-level compact vehicle. It is undergoing various tests before its unveiling this autumn. The tests included snow and ice in the wind tunnel at the Audi Technical Development in Ingolstadt.

The Audi A2 e-tron is also being tested in icy temperatures, snow-covered roads and slippery test tracks on a frozen lake. These extreme conditions showcase the lengths that the Audi A2 e-tron will adjust to during its winter testing in Lapland. At the secret test site in Sweden, they are focusing on driving dynamics but also on thermal management and battery performance. This ensures an enhanced and elevated driving experience for Audi with the combination of electric drive, brake control system and suspension being adjusted by the minute.

Additionally, the A2 e-tron has been aerodynamically optimised in the wind tunnel in Ingolstadt. The distinctive roofline is a strong feature of the vehicle and is the reason why the A2 e-tron has outstanding aerodynamics. It is constantly being tested in the wind tunnel to ensure it continues to provide optimised performance. It reaches a wind speed of up to 300 km/h and precise aeroacoustic measurement, the wind tunnel creates the perfect conditions to optimise the airflow characteristics, thermal management and noise development.

For road testing on the balance suspensions and assistance systems, the development team has been using the diverse conditions of the Altmühl Valley region in Bavaria. It has shown that the Audi A2 e-tron is suitable for everyday usability.

It is being built at the Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt, highlighting its commitment to transforming the plants in Europe.

The Audi A2 e-tron will premiere autumn 2026.
