CUPRA have retained a 5-star NCAP rating for the Leon, Formentor and Born. They continue to highlight their commitment to safety and advanced technology with their innovative designs.
The reassessment, under more demanding protocols, showcases CUPRA’s ability to meet the developing standards for occupant and vulnerable road user protection.
“The CUPRA Leon, Formentor and Born have always embodied our performance-driven spirit, but safety is equally central to our strategy. Meeting the new 2025 Euro NCAP standards is a testament to our engineering teams and their relentless pursuit of excellence.”
- Dr. Werner Tietz, Executive Vice-President for Research and Development at CUPRA
There are four key areas where vehicles are evaluated across, this includes: adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, vulnerable road user safety, and active safety systems.
The CUPRA Leon and Formentor have a range of advanced safety systems including radar sensors to support advanced driver assistance features. Designed with real-world scenarios in mind, the systems are able to detect and respond to any potential collisions.
There is enhanced protection for vulnerable road users with the new leg-impactor in the pedestrian-protection tests. The models will also feature an eCall function for emergency response.
The results confirm that the CUPRA Leon, Formentor, and Born are some of the safest vehicles.
