The CUPRA Tavascan takes interior lighting to a new level, transforming it from simple illumination into an integral part of the driving experience. With five distinctive ambient lighting modes – Liquid, Pulse, Electrified, Speed, Boreal and Custom – drivers can tailor the cabin atmosphere to match their mood or journey. Each setting fine-tunes tone and brightness across multiple interior zones, including the dashboard, doors, footwell and cupholders, creating a seamless blend of technology and emotion.
The lighting also enhances the Tavascan’s sculptural interior design, with LEDs strategically placed around the dashboard and central spine to create a striking ‘floating’ effect that amplifies CUPRA’s futuristic aesthetic.
Behavioural colour and design psychology expert Karen Haller explains how lighting influences the way we feel and drive: “Colour and light play a powerful role in shaping emotion. Warmer tones like amber or red promote calm and relaxation, while cooler blue wavelengths increase alertness and focus, much like daylight. Mid-spectrum greens restore balance and comfort.”
By allowing full control over the lighting spectrum, the Tavascan enables drivers to set the perfect environment for their state of mind — whether they want to feel energised, focused or at ease. “When drivers can influence their surroundings, they naturally feel more in control,” Haller adds.
