CUPRA has been voted ‘Trendiest Brand of the Year’ at the Auto Motor una Sport Awards 2025.
Voting was carried out by the title’s reader survey, in which a total of 94,531 people casted their votes in the competition. In response to the question “which car brands do you think are currently trending?”, CUPRA gained an impressive 72 percent of votes.

While we’ve matured as a brand, we’ve never lost sight of our roots. We remain the unconventional, emotional and trendsetting brand that boldly defies expectations and challenges conventions. This recognition inspires us to keep pushing boundaries and stay true to the rebellious spirit that defines us. CUPRA was first included in the Trendiest Brand of the Year survey in the ‘Best Cars 2021’ awards, with a 48 percent share of the vote. In 2022, this jumped to 65 percent and the brand has since continued to grow year on year. In 2023 it took fourth place with 69 percent, followed by 71 percent and second place last year. Now, with 72 percent of the vote, CUPRA has topped the trendiest brands vote for the first time.
The increase in popularity of the CUPRA brand follows its increase in models, debuting seven models in seven years. In 2018, the CUPRA brand was launched with the CUPRA Ateca as its debut model, soon followed by the CUPRA Formentor. The CUPRA Leon and CUPRA Leon Estate were updated with new design language line-up last year, whilst the CUPRA Born (2021) and CUPRA Tavascan (2024) offer all-electric driving to customers. The CUPRA Terramar is the most recent addition to the line-up, boasting impressive SUV capabilities.
The ’Best Cars 2025’ ceremony will be the 49th of its kind hosted by trade magazine Auto Motor und Sport. The official award ceremony is set to take place on 9th May at the Fischauktionshalle in Hamburg, Germany.
