The Emeya has beaten their own record for being one of the fastest-charging electric vehicles. This test was completed independently by Lotus Al Ghanim, an official dealer of Lotus in Kuwait, and used the ultra-fast Lotus 450kW DC charger on the public charging network.
It was able to charge from 10% to 80% in just 13 minutes and 35 seconds. It was also achieved in extensive heat conditions.
Lotus are committed to constantly improving their electric vehicles and futureproofing them. As the charging infrastructure develops and becomes better, drivers will continue to have confidence in Lotus that their vehicles will continue to run efficiently.
With the cell-to-pack battery structure, the Emeya is able to have 20% more cells packaged in the same space compared to a standard module architecture. Additionally the new cooling system also assists with improving the thermal performance and efficiency of the battery.
To further improve the charging speed, the Lotus Emeya features a 800-volt charging system to deliver rapid charging, regardless of the charger being used.
They are committed to providing their drivers with confidence on long-distance journeys. They have a WLTC energy consumption of 18.7kWh/100km, with the Emeya delivering up to 310km or range in 10 minutes.
Additionally, for a smooth charging experience, the Lotus Cars app and Lotus HyperOS, uses intelligent EV routing to help drivers locate public charging stations. This will assist with cutting down travel times and reduce any range anxiety on longer drives.
Its ultra-fast 450kW DC charger has started to roll out in Europe with Germany, and other European markets will soon enjoy this in the near future.
