The Octavia vRS has been added to the emergency services vehicle line up, it is Škoda UK’s most powerful production model and joins a comprehensive line-up of Škoda emergency vehicles.
The enhanced Octavia vRS is a powerful performance vehicle designed to meet the needs of police forces. It features a revised 2.0-litre petrol engine that now delivers 265PS and peak torque of 370Nm, offering improved power for responsive performance.
Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a seven-speed DSG gearbox and a VAQ electrohydraulic differential. This setup enables the Octavia vRS to sprint from 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds (6.5 seconds for the estate version) while ensuring optimal grip in all conditions. A 15mm lower ride height than the standard Octavia, combined with optional Dynamic Chassis Control, enhances stability and control even at high speeds.
Known for its versatility, reliability, and advanced technology, the Octavia has long been a trusted choice for emergency service fleets. The latest Octavia vRS builds on this reputation with updated features, including a 13-inch infotainment display, a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit, and an optional head-up display that ensures key driving information is easy to read.
Practicality is another highlight of the Octavia vRS. The hatchback offers 600 litres of boot space, while the estate provides 640 litres, catering to the equipment needs of emergency responders. Second-generation LED Matrix beam headlights are now standard, featuring new Crystallinium elements with 36 individual matrix segments for enhanced illumination that minimises glare for other drivers.
The updated Octavia vRS is also equipped with advanced safety features, including Automated Emergency Braking, Predictive Pedestrian Protection, Blind Spot Detection, and Turn Assist, which can automatically apply brakes to prevent head-on collisions. Additionally, the new Attention and Drowsiness Assist system monitors driver behaviour, analysing data points such as steering inputs and Lane Assist interventions to assess fatigue levels.
Škoda UK also offers a one-stop-shop conversion package for emergency services. Customised vehicle conversions for Ambulance, Police, and Fire and Rescue teams are available through Škoda-approved conversion partners.
