Škoda has revealed the pricing of the all-electric Epiq. It is one of the most affordable Škoda EV’s in the line-up starting from £24,950 which brings it within reach of an even broader group of customers. Alongside the all-electric Peaq, the Epiq will expand the brand’s all-electric model range. Orders will open in July for the SE L and Edition trims with the 55 battery.
The Epiq has been built with the Volkswagen Group’s new MEB+ platform and it is also the brand’s first all-electric model which features front-wheel drive. The new MEB+ platform combines reduced weight with high efficiency for the next generation of compact electric vehicles.
The exterior design features clean lines and intricate details. With its glossy black Tech-Deck Face, new T-shaped light signature and robust bumper design with O-shaped air inlets, the design features will certainly stand out on the road. It also features a drag coefficient of 0.275 to maximise the Epiq’s efficiency.
There is a choice of six colours to choose from when it comes to the colour exterior. These include the solid pain colour Marble Grey, exclusive metallic colour Jasper Red, and Timano Green, Platinum White, Pebble Silver and Mystery Black. To complement the paint colour are 18-inch alloy wheels which are fitted as standard.
The interior of the Epiq offers a practical interior which is further enhanced by the 475-litre boot and various additional storage solutions. It also features under the bonnet storage with the 25-litre front luggage compartment. Škoda have also followed their Modern Solid design philosophy with its layout.
For the first time, the Škoda Epiq will use animal-free material which provides a traditional feel with genuine comfort. As standard on the SE L and Edition trims, Loft Grey combines grey fabric with artificial leather and grey stitching for the premium look and feel. It features Techtona which is an easy-care synthetic leather that reduces chemical use and water consumption.
The driver can stay connected in the new Epiq with the new infotainment system and 13-inch centre display. This creates a personalised driving experience with access to important information. Additionally, with the MyŠkoda app, the driver will have access to vehicle information and selected comfort functions.
There are two battery and power options for the new Epiq which include front-wheel drive. Fitted with the MEB+ platform, the Epiq will utilise lighter and smaller batteries which also assist with energy consumption.
On the Epiq 40, it will feature a 37kWh capacity and uses lithium-ion-phosphate chemistry, delivering a driving range of around 190 miles. On the Epiq 55, it will feature a larger battery with a 52kWh capacity and uses nickel-manganese-cobalt chemistry. Both batteries will be able to charge 10% to 80% in under 25 minutes.
Bidirectional charging will also be available on the Epiq so customers are able to also use energy externally to supply it to the household or to the grid.
There is a wide range of safety and driver assistance features available on the new Epiq. It is also generously fitted with high levels of technology. For seamless connectivity, customers are able to connect their smartphone to create a connected driving experience.
The Epiq 55 First Edition has limited-availability. It will also be available with unique features that are not fitted on other Epiq models. These include the Navajo Orange accents, stripe on the wheel covers, and trim above the side windows. Orange stitching will also be used on the steering wheel, seats and dashboard.
Orders will open in July for the all-electric Epiq, prices starting from £24,950.
