Vauxhall has announced the prices of the new Frontera, and both the electric and hybrid will be on the same price list, eliminating the price difference between electric and petrol versions of the same car currently in the UK.
The New Frontera brings a rugged twist to Vauxhall’s Bold and Pure design, featuring the signature Vizor front-end and integrated LED headlights. Despite its compact size, it offers more boot space than the Astra Sports Tourer Electric. At launch, the Frontera offers two trims. The Design model includes 16-inch black steel wheels, automatic headlights, and an optional white roof. The GS model upgrades to 17-inch alloys, body-coloured bumpers, and a black roof with tinted windows.
Modern design extends to its spacious interior, featuring the Pure Panel cockpit with a new steering wheel, dual 10-inch screens, and physical buttons for essential functions. Standard features include satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and wireless charging. The Frontera maximises interior space with smart storage, 60:40 split rear seats, and a two-level boot floor, offering up to 1,594 litres of space with seats folded or 460 litres with them up.
The New Frontera offers two powertrain options: a petrol hybrid with 48-volt technology or a fully electric version. The hybrid pairs a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 21kW electric motor, available in 100hp or 136hp versions. With the 139hp model achieving 0-62mph in just 9 seconds. Alternatively, the Frontera Electric features a 113hp motor with a 186-mile range. It charges from 20-80% in 26 minutes via a 100kW rapid charger and accelerates from 0-62mph in 12.1 seconds, with a top speed of 87mph.
Both versions of the new Frontera will start from £23,495, with orders open in Autumn 2024.
