Vauxhall has opened orders for the New Frontera, the first car in the UK market to offer list price parity between electric and petrol hybrid versions.
The New Frontera can seat up to seven people and will be available in two specifications: Design and GS. Prices for the New Frontera Electric and Frontera Hybrid will both start from £23,495 OTR. The launch also means that Vauxhall has now met its commitment to offer a fully electric version of every car and van in its range.
“New Frontera opening for orders is an important milestone in making electric vehicles more accessible, as the first model in the UK market to offer an identical list price for electric and petrol hybrid versions. With our fully refreshed electric SUV line-up, we are providing customers with even more choice as part of our ongoing efforts to democratise access to electric vehicles – whether through our Electric Streets campaign, our new Electric All In benefits package, or by offering a fully electric version of every model in passenger car and van range.”
- James Taylor, Managing Director at Vauxhall
The New Frontera Electric offers a 44kWh battery with an impressive range of up to 186 miles, producing 113hp and 125Nm of torque. A long-range version offering around 248 miles of electric range is set to be available later this year.
Customers can also opt for the New Frontera Hybrid, which combines a 1.2 litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 21kW electric motor. The standard version produces 100hp and 205Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0-62mph in 11 seconds and a top speed of 112mph. A 100kW version boasts 230Nm of torque, 0-62mph in just 9 seconds and a top speed of 118mph.
The New Frontera boasts a rugged and bold exterior design, featuring the Vauxhall Vizor and stunning Intelli-LED headlights with high beam assist and central griffin logo. Measuring 4,385mm in length, the model sits between the Mokka and Grandland and boasts an impressive boot capacity of 1,600 litres with the rear seats down. Designed with sustainability in mind, the vehicle consists of up to 95 per cent reusable materials and is 85 per cent recyclable.
