Vauxhall have announced the New Astra and Astra Sports Tourer for 2026. They will feature a sharper and more modernised design, including the illuminated Vauxhall Griffin at the front, Intelli-Lux HD headlights, and Intelligent Seats with ergonomic recess.
Following Vauxhall's commitment to their ‘Greenovation’ approach, the interior has been designed with 100% recycled materials. The New Astra electric features a range of up to 282 miles in between charging stops.
“Our new Vauxhall Astra is sharper, more modern and more sustainable than ever. With new design and technology highlights such as the illuminated logo in the further developed brand face or the innovative Intelli-Lux HD light, we are taking our compact class bestseller to the next level. The new Astra will inspire customers and continue the decades of success of our compact class.”
- Steve Catlin, Vauxhall Managing Director
Inspired by the Vauxhall Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo concept car, the New Astra will be more technical and more modern than before. For a distinctive appearance, there are new designs for the 17-inch ‘Kaddett’ and 18-inch ‘Pentagon’ and ‘Rekord’ alloy wheels.
Improvements have been made to the innovative Intelli-Lux HD lighting. They have more than 50,000 elements and are more precise than previous matrix light technologies. The light can be adjusted in bad weather or fog mode to not dazzle others on the road.
Changes have also been made to the interior. There is an even clearer cockpit with enhanced comfort. Intelli-Seats are available as standard to reduce pressure on the tailbone and to ensure relaxed driving on longer journeys.
Vauxhall’s ‘Greenovation’ has also influenced the design of the cockpit to be more intuitive and clearer. Vauxhall are focusing on resource conservation for their electric vehicle range. Additionally, the New Astra Electric will also offer Vehicle-to-Load, to ensure it is able to charge other external devices such as e-bikes.
The New Astra and Astra Sports Tourer will make their debut at the Brussels Motor Show in January 2026.
