Vauxhall has unveiled the Astra Griffin, a special edition model available in both electric and petrol versions with enhanced features. This new trim level is offered for both the Hatch and Sports Tourer models.
The Astra Griffin model comes with an enhanced exterior, including tinted rear windows and roof rails on the Sport Tourer model. Inside, the driver and front passenger benefit from heated seats, plus the driver’s seat features AGR-certified ergonomic design. For the cold morning starts, the heated steering wheel will be beneficial.
Stay connected on the road with a range of connectivity features. Vauxhall’s Multimedia Pure Panel infotainment system has a 10-inch colour touchscreen, compatible with Wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Benefitting from Vauxhall Connect, Astra Electric Griffin customers can remotely schedule charging and pre-condition the vehicle’s cabin temperature.
In addition, the Vauxhall Griffin models feature LED headlights, tail lights, and daytime running lights with high beam assist, plus an array of driver-assistance tech. This includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, traffic and speed sign recognition, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. To assist with manoeuvring, there is a 180-degree rearview camera, complementing the front and rear parking sensors.
The electric variant is powered by a 54kWh lithium-ion battery paired with an electric motor producing 156PS and 270Nm of torque, offering a range of up to 258 miles (WLTP). With rapid charging, the Astra Electric can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes with a 100 KW rapid DC charger.
The new entry-level Astra Electric Griffin offers a savings of £2,800 compared to the Design trim, with prices starting at £34,995 OTR. For those preferring petrol, the Astra Griffin is also available with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged engine, delivering 130PS and 230Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Starting at £24,795 OTR, the Griffin trim lowers the entry point to the Astra range by £2,775 while adding extra features beyond those in the Design trim.
