Vauxhall have introduced the new Grandland Electric AWD, their first fully electric model with all-wheel drive. It is scheduled to be on sale in the UK from the early Autumn.

The new member to the Grandland family has Vauxhall’s bold design with its signature 3D Vizor front grille with the illuminated Griffin logo. It features impressive visibility to cater for every type of condition with more than 50,000 individual elements ensuring you have an advanced lighting system. In addition, it has the illuminated ‘VAUXHALL’ on the rear with ‘GRANDLAND’ embossed in the tailgate.
Its sporty appearance is further enhanced with the aerodynamic inserts on the front and rear bumpers, in addition to the 20-inch two-tone aero wheels and a drag coefficient of just 0.278.
Impressively, it reaches up to 311 miles of range with a 73kWh usable lithium-ion NMC battery. It reaches 20% - 80% in just 26 minutes, making your pit-stops more efficient.
It features the 213PS front-wheel drive electric motor with an additional 112PS electric motor for the rear. Its total power output is 325PS with a maximum torque of 509Nm and reaches an impressive 0-62mph in just 6.1 seconds.
There are four driving modes which come with the Grandland Electric AWD:
Normal Mode: This efficient mode relies on the front motor and wheels with maximum power output of 317PS and maximum toque of 450 Nm. Both motors will deliver their full potential during strong acceleration.
AWD Mode: The power distributed between all four wheels assists with slippery surfaces to enhance grip with the ESP and traction control system.
Sport Mode: Power is distributed 60:40 between the front and the rear axles for an efficient performance. In addition, the steering and accelerator have a ‘Sport’ setting.
Eco Mode: This mode allows the air conditioning and accelerator pedal to adopt an Eco setting. The maximum power is 215PS with the front motor and wheels mainly in use. However, during strong acceleration, both motors use their full power.
The Grandland is intelligent in adjusting to different situations, surface conditions and driving styles. It comes with more power but zero local emissions.
