Vauxhall have released the first pictures of the brand new Corsa GSE. It will take on the sporty CSi genes of the Nova. The most powerful production Corsa will be released this year with its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. It follows after the Mokka GSE, the first high-performing and fully-electric Vauxhall models.
“The new Corsa GSE marks a defining moment for Vauxhall as we bring the spirit of our iconic hot hatches into the electric era. Building on the blueprint set by the rally-inspired Mokka GSE, the new Corsa GSE combines exhilarating performance with everyday accessibility, proving that electric cars can be emotional, exciting, and great to drive. From its unmistakable GSE design to its class-leading acceleration, Corsa GSE proudly carries forward the legacy of models like Nova GTE, Corsa GSi and Corsa VXR - reimagined for a new electric generation.”
- Eurig Druce, Vauxhall Managing Director & Stellantis UK Group Managing Director
The return to the hot hatch market is the first for the Corsa since 2018. Vauxhall have showcased that their battery-electric peak performance is for all of their customers with the Mokka GSE. The Corsa GSE offers a similar performance with 281PS and 345Nm of torque.
There will be a choice of three driving modes with ‘Sport’ mode offering pure performance and full power with its special racetrack-optimised calibration. Then ‘Normal’ mode delivers 231PS whilst ‘Eco’ offers the greatest possible efficiency with all the settings reduced.
Additionally, the Corsa GSE features sophisticated technology which contributes to its exceptional performance. With front-wheel drive and a lower sports chassis with specifically designed axles, stabilisers, and hydraulic shock absorbers, it delivers a GSE-optimised steering and direct feedback.
The new Corsa GSE features a confident and dynamic design with the GSE-specific front bumper and sporty three-spoke 18-inch alloys and Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. Also, the Alcon brake callipers are clearly visible with GSE lettering.
The interior is also influenced by the bold design with performance seats for the driver and front passenger. For a strong contrast to the black, grey and yellow chequered pattern on the seats, the seatbelts are a bright yellow.
Following in its hot hatch heritage, the new Corsa GSE brings the sporty genes back to life.
