Volvo Cars UK has expanded its model line-up with new versions, trim levels, and advanced technologies, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to meeting customer expectations and offering a broad range of electrified powertrains, including fully electric, plug-in hybrid, and mild-hybrid options.
Among the updates, the XC60 receives a refreshed design and added features. The fully electric EX90 seven-seat SUV now introduces a single motor variant and a new Plus trim level. Meanwhile, the EC40 and EX40 Single Motor Extended Range models benefit from a larger battery, delivering increased driving rang. Additionally, Volvo has introduced a new Plus Pro equipment grade across selected models in the range.
XC60
The Volvo XC60 has been updated with a host of enhancements, including a sleek new exterior look featuring a refreshed grille, redesigned alloy wheels, and dark-tinted rear lamp clusters.
Inside, the updates are even more significant, with advanced technology delivering an improved user experience. The latest infotainment system is now faster and more responsive, accessed via an 11.2-inch touchscreen. The cabin continues Volvo’s signature minimalist design, complemented by a redesigned central storage console and an integrated wireless charging pad.
A choice of new upholstery options is also available, including the sustainable bio-attributable Nordico material and an elegant navy herringbone woven fabric.
Three powertrains are available: the B5 mild-hybrid petrol and T6 and T8 petrol-electric plug-in hybrids. On-the-road prices start at £49,240 for the B5 Core version and extend to £69,860 for the T8 Plug-in Hybrid Ultra Black Edition.
EX90
The flagship Volvo EX90 fully electric large SUV range has been expanded with the introduction of a new Single Motor, rear-wheel-drive variant and an additional Plus trim level.
The new powertrain is equipped with a 104kWh (nominal) / 100kWh (usable) battery, delivering 279hp and 490Nm of torque. This setup enables the EX90 to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in just 8.4 seconds. With energy efficiency of up to 3.4 miles per kWh, the Single Motor model offers an impressive range of up to 380 miles on a full charge.
The newly introduced Plus trim is available for both Single Motor and Twin Motor variants, establishing a new entry point for the EX90 range with an on-the-road price starting from £82,660. Despite its position as an entry-level option, the Plus grade maintains a high level of standard equipment, including four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, a 14.5-inch touchscreen interface, and a 360-degree camera system. Twin Motor versions further benefit from air suspension and adaptive dampers as standard.
EC40 and EX40
The EC40 compact crossover and EX40 compact SUV have both gained a longer driving range thanks to the introduction of a larger battery. The Single Motor Extended Range versions of both models are now fitted with an 82kWh (nominal) / 79kWh (usable) battery, replacing the previous 78kWh / 75kWh unit.
This upgrade delivers a noticeable improvement in range, adding approximately 15 extra miles on a full charge increasing the EC40’s maximum range to 360 miles (up from 346 miles) and the EX40’s to 358 miles (up from 343 miles).
New Plus Pro Trim Level
Volvo has expanded customer choice with the introduction of a new Plus Pro trim level, now available across the EC40, EX40, XC40, XC60, and XC90 model ranges.
Positioned between the existing Plus and Ultra grades, Plus Pro offers an attractive blend of advanced technology and enhanced styling features.
For the EC40, EX40, and XC40, key highlights include Pixel LED headlights with adaptive shadow technology, LED front fog lights with a cornering function, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system all designed to improve visibility, safety, and manoeuvrability.
On the XC60, the Plus Pro package adds 20-inch alloy wheels with a striking contrast diamond cut/black finish, along with soft Nappa leather ventilated seats. The XC90 Plus Pro variant upgrades to 21-inch alloy wheels and the same premium ventilated Nappa leather upholstery for added comfort and refinement.
