Volvo has unveiled the EX30 Cargo, a new car-derived van based on the fully electric EX30. It has been developed from the fully electric EX30 compact SUV with additional practicality and load-carrying capability whilst retaining the comfort and safety of a passenger car.
The rear seats have been replaced with a flat floor and an access panel to the lower floor, maximising the payload to 390kg with a load capacity of 1,000 litres. There is also a specially designed payload bulkhead which separates the cabin from the cargo area whilst the modified rear side panels and doors increase available load volume.
The EX30 Cargo transforms the electric SUV into a practical commercial vehicle which is available as the EX30 Cargo and the EX30 Cross Country Cargo which offers additional ground clearance. This conversion can be applied to the nearly ordered vehicles and existing stock from Model Year 2026 and 2027 vehicles.
The MY27 will feature the new P3 Extended Range powertrain as another option to the P5, featuring an impressive range of up to 300 miles.
It also benefits extended rear door access which allows for easier loading with the doors opening wider. The additional cargo work light assists with better visibility within the load area. There is also better security with the underfloor subframe which includes extra mounting points to support commercial uses.
“While we are best known for our passenger vehicles, we recognise that business owners and fleets also want the quality, safety and technology that Volvo is renowned for in a compact commercial vehicle too, which is why we created the extremely practical EX30 Cargo.”
- Jack Munford, Head of Fleet at Volvo Car UK
