Elegant Design

As standard, the exterior features innovative IQ.LIGHT technology, which permits continuous driving using the main beam, without dazzling other road users.


There is an elegant light strip which extends between the LED matrix headlights and the Volkswagen logo. At the rear, there are 3D LED taillight clusters with animated brake lights and integrated dynamic turn signal, which indicate the intended direction. There is also an optional trailer bracket, which swivels out electrically, allowing you to transport things such as a horse box or a kayak. It can be easily folded out of sight when it’s not in use.

Spacious interior

Inside, there is an open-space interior which has been designed to offer more freedom, making it perfect for families.


The new ID.5 offers plenty of head room in the rear, despite its sloping roof line from the coupe form, allowing space for up to five people. The boot features a large luggage compartment capacity, whilst the panoramic sunroof offers an unobstructed view of the sky above, which can be operated by voice control to open the blind. An ambient lighting package is available, offering a choice of 30 digital colours to gently illuminate the vehicle interior, including the dash panel, mobile phone tray and doors.

Innovative technology

As standard, there is augmented reality head-up display, which projects important information directly into the field of view of the windscreen.


This allows you to see navigation information exactly where you have to drive or turn off, allowing you to relax without taking your eyes off the road. Using voice control, you can control equipment such as the radio, navigation system or your telephone by saying “Hello ID”. The Discover Pro navigation system allows you to access your Apple Music account to stream songs and podcasts.
